Dustless sanding and finishing

This service involves the resurfacing of your existing wood floors. Be they oak, top nail or otherwise, fir or maple. We can also recolor your floors using stains designed to work with water base top coats. There are many types of finishes available. However, we find that most of our customers are looking for low maintenance and high durability. This is why 90% of our floors are water base top coats. They dry fast, are comparatively low in odor, low toxic and wear very well.

All of our sanding is done using our dustless sanding system which assures you of a clean home upon the completion of our work.

Restoration and repair

This can involve the blending of salvaged flooring to match the color and style of your existing floor, or removing whole areas of flooring, or moving old or existing vents, or stabilizing your sub floor prior to nailing down flooring.Many of our sanding jobs require some form of repair or replacement of material.

With this kind of work, our best efforts go unnoticed, which is a good thing!

Installation

This consists of nailing or gluing down any type of wood flooring. For many Portland homes it also entails the removal of old and worn out flooring, repair of the sub-floor and then the installation of either a traditional type strip floor or other type of floor.

Custom Installations

This can cover wood type, width of boards, length of boards, grade of material, hand scraped to texture the surface, screwed and plugged either round plugs or square. It might only involve one of the above or all. These floors often command a high price if all the options are exercised. However, if you have a well developed sense of personal style there s only so much you can do with 2 ¼ wide red oak.
